9. Basis of OIG's Compensation as Insurance Brokers
We earn a percentage of a customer's premium when a new home or auto policy is sold or an existing policy is renewed. This base commission is estimated to vary from 10% to 20% depending upon the product line and the insurer.

In addition, based on the financial performance of the policies that we have sold, we may also earn additional compensation, which is not guaranteed. That compensation is determined based on the profit (if any) which is generated over time by all of the auto and home insurance policies we have placed with a particular insurance company.

Some of our operating and marketing expenses may also be reimbursed.
